Why did you decide to become an interior designer?

I worked for many years in corporate and show room design, and while I loved the creative aspect of it, I felt something was missing - the human element of affecting someone's life. I love being a New York residential interior designer because it allows me to couple two of my passions: aesthetic balance, creativity and beauty with providing a service that can truly improve and impact someone's life.

Describe a highlight of your career as a designer.

I have so many moments that I feel have been pivotal in my career, but the one that stands out is a project I did on the Northfork of Long Island. It was the first ground up project that I worked on so I was involved in every aspect from the very beginning and got to work very closely with the architect and the builder to really create a home that was perfect for my client. I learned so much from that project, and it was such a sense of accomplishment to see the finished house.

What do you wish everyone knew about interior design?

That it is FUN! As an interior designer in New York, so many of my clients are so stressed about starting an interior design project. One of my top priorities is making the process enjoyable for the client.
